FERGUS RUTHERFORD - ValuerBIOGRAPHY![]() Fergus completed a Bachelor of Business Studies in Valuation and Property Management at Massey University. This gave him a solid grounding in core business principles plus knowledge of property fundamentals and the property market. He then completed a post graduate diploma in Rural Valuation that has expanded his sphere of influence into things rural. On leaving Massey Fergus managed a portfolio of properties for a Government agency in Wellington, exposing him to project management and the economic analysis of property investments. He then left NZ and completed his OE where he worked in agricultural jobs in Scotland, and in foreign exchange for Barings Bank in London. Fergus began work in the Wairarapa with Baker & Associates (B&A) in April 2000. When initially employed B&A had no profile as a valuation firm. Fergus has since increased that profile to the point where B&A are the preferred valuation supplier to a number of Real Estate Agents and lending institutions in the Wairarapa. Fergus now controls the valuation enterprise within B&A and is a director of Baker & Associates.
The valuation practice has developed to encompass property consultancy including compensation for public utilities and negotiations for wind farm development throughout NZ. |
