Jane grew up on a Sheep and Beef property in Gladstone, Wairarapa. She gained experience on-farm by assisting her father in all aspects of sheep and beef farming.

Jane achieved a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science from Lincoln University. After completing her degree, Jane was employed by Lincoln University to undertake the fieldwork in the S3 Parasite Resistance Trial. Jane then went on to work for Merial New Zealand Animal Health Ltd based in Timaru, South Canterbury, as a Technical Sales Representative. Baker and Associates employed Jane in April 2006 as Coordinator, PasturePro and Dairy Systems Monitoring.

Jane's role is to provide farm businesses with valid and useful information by having responsibility for client management and monthly processing of data for Dairy Systems Monitoring (DSM). Jane also supports B&A's Dairy Consultant, Chris Lewis.
