JEREMY DAVIES - Agribusiness Consultant
BIOGRAPHY

Jeremy was brought up on a sheep, beef and cropping farm in
Herefordshire, England spending his school holidays working on the
property. In 1988 Jeremy completed a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture
with Honours at the University
of New Castle upon Tyne and
gained the
Institute of British and Irish Millers award for
highest achieving student.
After leaving university Jeremy worked as a Farm Manager in Cambridgeshire
and Oxfordshire for 5 years. After which he spent a year working on a 400ha
sheep, beef and deer property in the Waikato where he first got the feel for New Zealand
agriculture.
In
2004 Jeremy was offered a position working as a farm advisor in
Herefordshire utilising his university qualification and practical knowledge
gained over the previous 6 years. Over the next 10 years Jeremy advised over
40 farmers on a regular basis covering about 10,000ha of sheep, beef and
cropping while also managing the sheep and beef enterprises on the family
farm and running a sheep stud on his own property.
Between 1991 and 2002 Jeremy came to
New Zealand
6 times gaining much experience and knowledge of New Zealand agriculture. In 2004 he
decided to emigrate to New Zealand buying a sheep and beef farm at Wairoa in
2005 and also flying to Christchurch to advise on farms in Canterbury. In
2008 Jeremy sold his farm at Wairoa and purchased a 179ha sheep and beef
farm on Ngapaeruru Road, Dannevirke. Shortly after this a 32ha lease was
added to the farming operation.
Jeremy joined the Baker and Associates team in February 2010 working
from the newly opened Dannevirke office bringing 15 years experience as an
Agribusiness consultant and practical farming, along with local knowledge of
the Dannevirke area.
Glen Elgin Farm is shared with Jeremy’s fiancé Apriel who is a
primary school teacher at Huia
Range
School. Jeremy also enjoys
rugby (as spectator only since an injury in 1995), hunting and fishing.
